About The Owners
Shaka grew up in Dangriga. He is a Garifuna and speaks the language fluently, and has lived in the United States for a long time; he frequently returns to his native home to gather his thoughts, ground himself, and remember where he came from.
Shaka is a proud Belizean Garifuna who enjoys showing our friends around Belize and pointing out and explaining landmarks and historic sites in his country.
Stephanie grew up in Cleveland Ohio and discovered Belize about 10 years ago. She has a part-time home in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye but travels as much of the country as she can. She is the third generation in the jewelry industry and specializes in custom jewelry design and jewelry repair.
Shaka and Stephanie plan to return to Belize to live very soon. They are currently building a home and hope to move to the paradise of Belize very soon.
Each one of our pieces has been designed to feature a part of Belize and the Garifuna both in Belize and around the world. We have taken the time and continue to take time to personally design and make each piece with precision and respect for Belize and the Garifuna people!
Be Belize Company works in all precious metals including 10kt, 14kt, and 18kt white, yellow, or rose gold, sterling silver, and platinum. Most of our pieces can be customized adding names, dates, or important features to you.

We recently relocated to Galveston Island off the coast of Texas, where we started our dream business in the for of a jewelry store.
Generations Jewelers is a family-owned and operated business.
Second-generation jeweler Steve Satow heads the shop specializing in complete jewelry rebuilds and vintage restoration. He has over 45 years of experience as a bench jeweler and has won multiple jewelry design awards.
Daughter, and owner, Stephanie Satow - Higinio, third-generation jeweler, specializes in custom jewelry design and jewelry repair. She also enjoys long walks on the beach with her best friend Moose, her Pitbull.
Shaka Magarada Higinio, owner and Stephanie's husband, is head of marketing and advertising. He specializes in customer service and sales for our sister company Be Belize Company LLC Be Belize Co. specializes in Belize and Garifuna inspired jewelry.
